Novar Controls Launches Cost Effective IQ3xtend Controller for Increased Performance and Flexibility

REDMOND, WA—February 1, 2006—Novar Controls Corporation (http://ntc.novarcontrols.com) today launched the IQ3xtend node controller, which reduces the number of devices required to connect IQ System wide area networks (WANs). A single IQ3xtend replaces the EINC (Ethernet–IQ Internetwork router), LINC (LonWorks–IQ Internetwork router) and INC2 (LAN–IQ Internetwork router) for a more cost effective configuration.

“The IQ3xtend is an economic solution in a number of ways,” said Frank Dwyer, IQ product manager. “It not only lowers installation costs and saves time by requiring less equipment for configuration, it also leverages your existing investment by integrating IQ Lon devices with IQ2 and IQ3 devices.”

The IQ3xtend node controller increases PC connectivity over Ethernet with eight virtual communication node controllers (CNCs). The controller spans routers to allow configuration across IP WANs or multiple subnets, increasing configuration and operating flexibility on large scale installations. The IQ3xtend also retains configured data in FLASH to maintain the integrity of configured data in the case of power loss. With network alarms available in 10 languages, the IQ3xtend controller is perfect for multilingual applications.
